Love the artist, don't love the book. Paper quality is acceptable, but ink prints are washed out and faded (and not just because of the print's age--I bought a like-new copy). The publisher could have done a lot more with layout, and they really should have sought higher quality images, because the resolution on these means you have a 12" tall book filled with 3" tall paintings. It's kind of ridiculous.That being said, who doesn't love to have Patrick Nagel ladies sitting on the coffee table to point at and daydream about and start conversation. Always a classic, even if this print kind of stinks.
I saw this book and had to have it. Seller said was in Used-Very Good condition and they were not lying. I had a 1985 print date and it still had the duskjacket on it. Now the duskjacket had wear you would expect on a 27 year old book, but still it was in very good shape. The rest of the book looks like it had never been opened and sat on a shelf waiting for me to purchase it. Great collectors item, or if you don't mind you could also cut out the images and frame them.I really liked that it showed a lot of the process of a print from drawing to final, and they had a lot of pull out pages that made really nice big pictures.
This is the perfect coffee table book for any Patrick Nagel fan. Though I bought this as a gift, it has been on display in my home ever since. It has pages upon pages of Nagel's finest works and some that you probably didn't know existed. This is a great gift for anyone who loves Nagel.

I've really appreciated the style of Patrick Nagel, since the first time I saw his art years ago. That was my prime motive in acquiring this book. It features lots of Nagel's art, including some of his best-known works.
Loved Patrick He was a Vietnam Veteran, Left us age 38... after his service overseas ... We called him Vern in Highschool in California
This book was a must-own for me. My art teacher had one in her room, and it seemed like every student wanted to imitate at least one of Nagel's masterpieces. I purchased this book before my final semester of high school art, and I spent most of the semester admiring Nagel's work.This book is great for me to enhance my own artwork. But it's an amazing book for an art lover. My friends and I use this book just to admire some great art, and it's magnificent to flip through every once in awhile.
Excellent as usual. Patrick Nagel was a relative of mine. Brothers and sister have prints, but I can't afford. So I have this to put in a frame and read when I want and I have the Duran Duran (Rio) album; also through Amazon and cover done by Nagel. So, actually, I think I have the best deal.
